A bit about me!
Hello there! I'm Mackenzie, and I'm a New Hampshire-born, Minnesota-raised actor who has recently earned a BFA in Musical Theatre and Dance Minor from the University of Minnesota Duluth (wohoo!).
My acting career began after my dream of moving to Australia to work with Steve Irwin at the Australia Zoo fell through at the age of 5. I knew I needed to pivot, so I decided to set my sights on a more realistic career path and take up acting. Since then, I've had the chance to be a part of some pretty cool projects, including but not limited to: an episode of SNL (pictured below), shows in the Twin Cities area, and many, many, productions with UMD Theatre and The Duluth Playhouse. I'm currently working with Climb Theatre as one of their resident actor-educators!

In all seriousness, performing has been one of my main joys in life. While I specialize in Musical Theatre performance, I love getting the chance to create anything that tells a story and involves a touch of whimsy and fun, especially if history or puppets are involved. I believe that theater is a work of heart, and that it has the power to be extremely impactful to peoples' lives.

As I continue my theater career, I aim to take part in creating theatrical experiences that interrogate the way our world works and how we as people navigate through it, shares new perspectives of those who are underrepresented in our society, or that makes someone's day just a little bit better than it was before.

Before you explore the rest of my site, here are a few fun facts about me!
1. I love War and Peace, so much so that I've read it two times. On a similar (and unsurprising) note, my all time favorite musical is Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, and it is one of my missions in life to make sure I tell as many people as possible about it.
2. I've been in the top 0.01 percent of ABBA listeners on Spotify for multiple years

3. I have over 30 bird-decor related items in my house

4. I have done an extensive amount of research on King Louis XIV and the palace of Versailles, and one of my side quest dreams is to one day be a private historical tour guide there :)

Some things I love!
horses
The Muppets
Lobster rolls!
Witch by Jen Silverman

Rufus Wainwright
watching the Twilight movies for comedic relief

and finally, some quotes from War and Peace that remind me why I do what I do :)
"How easy it is, what little effort it takes to do so much good, thought Pierre, 'and how little we trouble ourselves to do it!'"

""We all think we only have to be knocked a little bit off course and we've lost everything, but it's only the start of something new and good. Where there is life, there is happiness. There is a huge amount yet to come."

" For the first time in his life Pierre was struck by the endless variety of men's minds, which guarantees that no truth is ever seen the same way by any two persons."

"Everything I know, I know because of love"

"There is no greatness where there is not simplicity, goodness, and truth."

"Pierre was right when he said that one must believe in the possibility of happiness in order to be happy, and I now believe in it. Let the dead bury the dead, but while I’m alive, I must live and be happy"
